all skill levels welcome!!

Feel Free to BYO (Seating, Table, Scissors, t-shirt yarns, and other materials to recycle with will be provided)

i will be skill sharing finger crochet and upcycle yarn making techniques that can be used to make cool rugs <3

On Saturday, April 20, 2024, The Trash to Treasure Movement, a sustainable shopping and creative reuse advocacy resource, will be presenting a sustainable fashion show that will highlight the work of creative reuse fashion designers for 2024 Earth Day weekend. All proceeds of the event will benefit UpCycle Creative Reuse Center and their mission to inspire all people to explore and create by engaging our community in art-making experiences with reuse materials.

The event will take place at The Garden ALX (​​5380 Eisenhower Ave Suite C, Alexandria, VA 22304).

Attendees are encouraged to dress in their favorite secondhand and sustainable outfits and a select number of attendees will be invited to walk the runway.

UpCycle is a community resource for materials, inspiration and ideas. collecting reusable items that are used for arts & crafts and learning purposes and resells them to the public at affordable prices. as well as offering classes, workshops, and exploratory experiences for people of all ages

Opening Reception Feb 17th 6-9pm

Opening Reception will be the first look at the showcase featuring a wide range of dMV artists + collaborative painting, live music, refreshments, and a pop-up art market.

the show including the cozy installation will be open to view Each Saturday from 12-4pm

February 17th - April 20th 2024

Spend an evening visualising your dreams and goals with The Cosmic Corner at this consumption friendly vision board workshop! All supplies will be provided for the vision board DIY and you are more than welcome to provide photos to personalize your board further. The event will end with a crystal sound bath to settle into the frequency of our visions.

There will be a small curated popup shop and playful interactive cozy elements to spend time reflecting with.

aims to unite sustainability, art, and spirituality into one experience.

All materials provided, join The Cozy Experience and Emma Olmedo (kivibes) , and re-make textile waste by crafting your very own meditation pillow, with finger crochet techniques.

Infuse love, positive energy, and intentions into your pillow while explore mindfulness and intention.

The event will close with a reki-charged crystal bowl sound bath for relaxation. Setting an example of how your meditation pillow can be used in your own future meditative practices, build new habits, and set powerful intentions.

Swap Fashion at the Queer Art Salon

The Cozy Experience Studio (#4 on the LL of the Selina Union Market Hostel & Cowork) will be open for fashion swapping during Ashley Jaye William’s curatorial gallery tours on Sunday, July 30th

In tandem with the tours and swap a few slow-fashion clothing vendors will be showing off and selling their work

If you wish to drop of swap Items early you may!!

Starting on the Evening of August 27th a clothing rack and hangers will be available in front of the same Studio 4

Anyone may swap ~5 items at any time regardless if you come to the main event or not

-please follow basic swap etiquette and bring clean items that are in fair/good condition
